my friend wanted me to try to fix his savage that he bough used off some guy online i assume. I haven't had one in about a year so i've been out of the rc scene. anyways whenever you start it it takes off, not from servo placement, i richened it up a ton and it still did it, then i looked and fuel was coming up from the glow plug. i assumed cracked head or wrong size glow plus/washer? sound like good guesses?

Either the head is cracked,it's the wrong plug,or there's no washer,or is the idle set to high?

i checked the idle, so ill tell him its the head, plug, or washer. there is a washer on it but i don't remember anything about what kind of plug it should be and whatnot

You are saying that when you start it, it automatically wants to take off? If so check your Clutch assembly. Bad spring or bearing I think.Check the shoes to make sure they are not worn out from a bad clutch set up.

Find out what savage model and engine that's in it,take the head off and get a magnifying glass, finding a crack can be hard, but if there's one you should be able to see it.

It sounds better to just replace the plug with a fresh one.You will get a new washer with that one. As far as the head, leave it till you finish with the plug issue. Don't try to do all these things at once.

sounds like more then one problem.
1.plug issue-see if it is loose or no washer.
2.taking off- clutch spings/clutch shoes broke, idle to high
