quick collari .30 tuning question

i broke in my .30 today and have a question for those of you with them. I did one tank at idle then began driving it. letting it cool down all the way with the piston at BDC between every run. I did 10 runs, leaning the high speed 1/8 turn after every run. still always letting it cool at bdc, it was a dog until about the 8th tank and after it started picking up. after 10 tanks it is getting pretty fast and runnign at about 155 degrees, should i just keep tuning to get it over 200 or just forget about temp and just tune it for maximum power while retaining good smoke, I want to leave it a little rich for awhile just so it doesn't et damaged. my question is how did ya'll do yours? thank you!

as far as i understand the engine isnt really breaking in untill it gets to around 190 - 200 degrees ...i think you should wrap the head with aluminum foil or put a sock over it

running your engine at that low of temp may be wearing it prematurely

It's not 10 degrees outside. Foil and or a sock will overheat the engine at these temps.



Just keep leaning it out till you get in the 200 degree area.
As long as you have smoke, and aren't too hot, your good.

After you feel break in is done, lean it out for power, make sure you have smoke, and try to keep it below 250 degrees.

I dont know but my .30 just like my buddys was weird, after about 5 tanks I started to turn the HSN it was running about 195 up to that point at 7 1/2 turns out I tried to turn it in and It bogged real bad on the high end, a lean bog, I am currently a full turn out from factory about 8 1/2 turns and a 1/2 turn in on the LSN, my LST screams I'm on tank 15 or so its running about
235-240 and pulls my lst up from a stand still on pavement, I'm not the only one to have to tune it like this!my proline 40 series wheels get thin as paper at top speed!

lol yeah here in az i dont think tin foil or a sock on the head would be a good idea... yeah ill continue leaning it out tommorow and see what i can come up with, I sealed it all up good before I put it in the truck. i think that helped alot... everything has been going great, starts first pull and will sit there and idle away as long as i want.

how does it keep a tune? when the temperature changes and u have to re tune em cuz they are temperature sensetive........do u have to re tune em? or do they just not run as well if u dont???
