I own a Duratrax maximum st and i want to make it have a top end speed of like 45mph stock it goes like 35 what part or parts will i need? its stock engine is a torq 12 not that big but it will do for know! like what kind of gears will i need? And is it possible to mount a 2 speed transmission to a truck that is meant to only have 1 gear? And if so will a 2 speed tranny make any difference in higher speed and acceleration? I am new at this and i just had a copuple questions

Thanks ........

ok, firt dont kill your self with a whole bunch of junk to make your ride go so fast the paint melts off, take other things into concideration, you dont need it to go bat out of hell fast, unless you drag with it, but i would say stay away from the 2 speed almost not worth it...but yea a new spur and bell gear should make some changes in the speed and how fast it gets off the line, I'm not sure about how manny teeth does what but this is my opinon hope it helps-

get the st pro engine..i think it was a .16 lots of companys have trade in deals with old engines like hpi and traxxas mabye duratrash..i mean duratrax does too

you want top end so get a smaller spur gear and you're all set, you want to take reallly serious then also go for a bigger pinion/clutch bell and vise versa for better low end, you be all set
