i dont see alot of talk on here about associated trucks, are they not very good? associated back in the day was the best money could buy, I'm looking to get back into r/c and want a nitro truck, any good things about the associated 4.6 mgt or the 8.0???

I just read a review of the associated mgt 3.0 1/10 scale in rc car action and it got a pretty good review. There are alot of guys on here with associated rigs. I don't seem to here alot of bad about them.

I have a 4.6SE, bought it about 2 years ago and its never had any problems apart from a busted glow plug during the run in. Make sure i put after run oil in as it sometimes sits for months in the garage. Starts up everytime i get it out, not the fastest truck ever made but its fast enough for me out the box, climbs over and through most things i throw at it.

Hope this helps, the 8.0 looks good but i can't justify swapping a perfectly good truck!! Think i'd rather put a quicker engine in mine if anything in the future....

PS i read that the stock setup will wheelie but maybe someone can advise how to set the car up for such quick take off without melting it lol!!

The 8.0 will outrun my Savage X on the factory run in settings. No I'm not on anything, it really was trying to pick up the front wheels after 2 tanks (heat cycle) without me yet touching the factory settings. The torque is freaky.
Having said that I always leave my rigs a touch on the rich side but they still haul.
