i have returned, or am returning, after a hiatus of several years. I have an RC10GT, bump starter, nice little package.

But, as I expected, the years of sitting unused in my basement weren't kind to the lead acid battery for the starter. Charged it up, but no go.

And, since I am coming back in, I noticed some neat new gizmos, like the HPI RotoStart...I did some googling, but nothing was too helpful. Can I retrofit my OS (12cv)engine to make use of the rotostart instead of the bump starter?

I would eventually like to race the truck, but for right now, its a basher. The bump starting got old fast, as I recall from the first go-round.

thanks

maybe i missed it, but i thought the backplates were all for former pull start versions. mine is a non-pull.....

ouch ,
it would be cheaper just to find a parts motor with a good crank and backplate for a pullstart motor and i believe you will need a different set of motor mounts to lift the motor to clear the pullstart/rotostart .if you do not want to buy another battery for your bumpbox then wire it with 2 clips and hook it to your car battery ,that what i did because i always had ot drive to my bashing spot .
