Question, kind of a poll.

Name the largest size engine you've ever seen for nitro RCs, this is so I can learn the largest one that exists. (To the best of people's knowledge.)

Yeah, the TT EK-4S2 has a mod'd .70 heli engine. 1/5th scales and larger usually have gas bruners, not nitro.

I think what keeps folks from trying that is how much fuel those monster engine consume. I hate the mileage my .21 gets, can you imagine what that .91 drinks ? Doing some basic math, that .91 is over 4X bigger than my .21, so would I need a tank 4X bigger as well to enjoy the same run times ? Dunno.

Well It depends on what you are discussing. Only a engine for a car/truck? Or biggest nitro engine for all facets of R/C.

Aircraft engines are not ideal for cars because they turn low rpm. Most planes with props are limited to about 15,000 rpm. Plus plane engines have small cylinder heads because they have a 70 mph wind blowing over them. The truckzilla 46 is a good compromise. It turns 23,000 with a ton of torque, enough that steering is hard because the wheels are always in the air.
