I have a team Durango tx1 transmitter and receiver (come in their rtr vehicles) and the other day while I was doing a tear down to clean my buggy, the receivers antenna ripped out. I took it apart and re- soldered it but the buggy can only go about 30 yards before tweaking out. I was wondering if I can use any 2.4ghz receiver and will it bind properly? Or is there a suggested receiver I can use? I was on eBay and saw a receiver from FlySky and the guys said it should work, but when I asked my local hobby dealer they said receivers come in 4 different 2.4ghz ( spectrum, airtronics, futuba and some other one) is this true? Or, should I just trash it and get a whole new set up and stop wasting time on this. I like the one I got because it's simple and easy to use. Thanks for your help!

Any 2.4 Gig system will work I would use a 2.4 gig RX / Radio combo that you know you wont have a problem just using an RX with your Radio it might not bind so be careful

If you're having a hard time finding just the receiver and really like the stock system just go with the stock system in the eBay link above. $25 isn't a bad price to pay for that if you ask me. If you want to upgrade look at the spektrum DX3C, it's a great radio, and a decent price. I believe it's priced at about $99 now, and it's an easy system to learn as well.

Thanks for your help. I guess I'll have to buy a complete set

Almost every brand of 2.4 GHz radio system is NOT able to work with any other. So a Futaba TX won't work with a Spektrum RX for example. Please don't spread bad info.

That's what I was thinking, but I think he just worded it wrong. What I think he meant is. Any new 2.4ghz complete system will work (rx and tx), and I also think he was trying to say that any random rx will not bind with his tx.
But then again I'm not him so I'm not 100% sure.
