question for my cousin

my cousin isnt a member on this forum but he has a kyosho ultima rb buggy and when he goes like 10 feet away from it the car wont respond to the radio like it wont turn and he put new batteries in it and the radio started smoking so i think it may be that any suggestion

The batteries might have been put in wrong and that is why the radio started smoking.......it may be too late for that. My fisrt guess on the radio distance problem is to make sure the antenna wire was not cut or damaged or shortened, this will cause a problem like you described.

hard to tell from here, put new batts in and make sure they go in the right way and see if it works or smokes, or does nothing.
