I got my savage after a little bit of annoying time I finally got it broken in where it's gone through a couple of tanks and as i'm tuning it up it's getting a bit too fast for my street...hence a near full speed run into a curb as the brake didn't seem to slow it down much when I realized I couldn't make the turn....

So the question is I see a lot of replacement lower and upper arms on the internet but I also so the HPI replacement A arms. The question is who makes a good quality A arm and suspension parts that I can trust but won't cost me 100 dollars for 2 lowers and another 100 for 2 uppers? What are a couple quality sites you guys trust for price and parts?

Thank you in advance I'm a little newb here so learning piece by piece. I dont' think I broke the lower but in looking at it (I don't have a picture) the front side of the lower arm has come off the smooth metal shaft that it went around. But it doesn't have a screw or threads so I'm not sure how it came off or how it goes back on I need to take more time looking at it.

Just a note I'm seeing they come up as plastic parts? Would you also recommend for AL upgrades? Edit that wow that's fantastic!! So far it seems the suspension is the weak link in the XL I've already bent the bolt holding the upper shocks in got replacement parts for that and now the a arm. With every tank of gas this thing gets more fun.

Agreed RPM, stay away from aluminum for a arms and you'll never have to spend more the $50 for all four corners of the truck and $50 is stretching it.

No! Not aluminum for a arms Google it and you shall get many reasons why.

wow ok thanks for the advice!!! nice to dodge a bullet occasionally

I'm sure this has been covered but finding how to search for it I'm not getting any answers what are the best parts you want to swap to aluminum?

Rear hub carriers, castor blocks, steering knuckles, servo horns, steering crank, um...centre transmission box.

If you gotta have alloy a-arms look for flextek titanium a-arm set, the company says they must have 100 requests before making a production run.

The only thing that stops me from ordering that kit is its only in freakin purple!
They should have started their production run with a better colour.

Blue, red, green, yellow...any things better than purple.

Can't stand Integy crap nor would I ever put it on my truck so I went with the OG HPI parts.

Could care less that it's purple... I don't give a dam what color it is as long as the quality is on point...

HPI's official colors are purple and orange, they will never release this in orange tho. U want the colors of the rainbow buy Integy...

I'm' sticking with black, the idea of purple and plastic....eehhh can't hang... Maybe if I wanted to bust up the other parts with aluminum...although my hobby shop offered me carbon fiber. which apparently just shatters rather than break other parts? Conversion is interesting

I shelled out for the above mentioned kit, only I'm opting for having them sent to an aluminum anodizing place along with my FLM pieces. Just so they match.

I saw the pricing, that's not a bad price either, any tips on tuning it? Low down I've leaned it out and there is little to no smoke coming out at idle. Doesn't have the juice to bring the front tires up which I kind of thought it would. Hi end I know I need to lean it out some more but the new fun thing is it'll idle even warm for about 30 seconds then drop off. I made the mistake when I was first tuning it of changing the brass screw around. I believe that's mid?

Yeah I know that's the mortal sin, i'm getting good power on the top end but trying to get a faster response on the low end. I don't think I'm running rich I don't see much or any smoke at idle but I just feel like it should have a little more jump before it goes to the high speed and smoking down the road.

I did do a search, and found the same information as the directions I guess I just need to learn how to set the gap to 1mm on the carb or learn to check it to make sure it came set correctly from the factory.
