Can larger wheels be put on a RC truck without causing other issues or does something else also have to be changed?

you can but more than likely you will have to change pinion size as in drop teeth and also limit turn amount as in endpoints in steering.. all depends on clearance in body ..

Simply put, bigger wheels will cause an electric motor to have to work harder, thus making it essential to gear down if you want your truck to last. I learned this the hard way.

Best way to do that easily is get a pinion gear with less teeth.

You also want to make sure the hex inside the wheel is the correct size, and that you won't have the tires scrape the body/chassis.

Putting larger Wheels on a RC crawler will make it more top-heavy but have higher clearance, there's some give and take when you do this process. Typically for a 1/10 scale RC crawler, I prefer 1.9" tires compared to 2.2".
