So seems how I am a newb on the nitro's and the tmaxx. I now have an issues with my pull starter not rewinding after I try to start my Tmaxx. The only info I have found in my searches is to pull it off and clean it, but isn't this a sign of more serious issues with the crank or top end of the motor?? I am baffled and really jsut want to upgrade to the 3.3 or the picco 2.6 while I have the motor out. oh yeah I bought this tmaxx used and it was beat to hell before I got it. It was cheap and had upgraded radio equipment on it. I just got it, so me and the kids can have fun with it. Sorry of i missed some other info on here about my current situation, but I am now frustrated with this pull start issue. Thanks

Ok I will pull it and check it tonight. Whats a good solvent to clean with I see alot of posts about WD 40. Thanks for the input

yes wd-40 will become your best friend.they do make rc after run oil but imo wd-40 works grt-8.use it after every run.pull glow plug, air filter and spray about 1 sec. burst into the glow plug hole,in the carb.then turn it upside down and turn the engine over a few times to get the excess oil out.and keep your engine clean on the outside with a degreaser.i use (purple power)and toothbrush.then blow it off with air.if you do this your engines life will be longer.

It is more than possible to fix the recoil spring only if the end broke that has a hook shaped bend, you will need to heat the end before a you rebend it

I pulled the motor and pull starter today, and the pull starter is fine. It rewinds and has smooth pull to it off of the motor. It has to be the one way bearing. Now all i have to do is figure out how to replace that.

You might try cleaning the One way with WD-40. I have had them hang up before due to crud being built up in the bearing before.

Just purchased a new one and installed it. Works perfectly, I started it and ran it for a few with no problems. I shut it down and went back to run it, now it won't start and seeping fuel out of the tailpipe. Leaving a small splatter style marks on the ground. Lost not sure what to do. Any sugestions??

Pull the glow plug and test with a charged igniter,if plug is good then too rich

Just wanted to say thanks for the great feedback everyone. I have got my Tmaxx running ok, still re-tuning but its running well. These damn things are way too much fun with all the tuning, upgrades, and bashing. So I am taking it to the MX track this weekned for the race and will run it on the peewee track for some fun. Should be a good time.

So what was the last problem dude?

Now its just running rich. It was spitting raw fuel out of the pipe. Now its not as bad, but I am still tweaking the high speed and low speed to dial in the tuning better

Be sure to tune the topend first, then go after the low,
