I have a Revo 3.3 and am wanting to upgrade to a pull start. Does anyone have any ideals on want a good reliable brand to use? And what I might find one.

when you go to a pull start, don't yank on it like you do with a lawnmower/weedwacker. Just use short fast tugs

The biggest mistake i ever did, boy does it suck when its out of tune and you put it on and have to yank on it forever. i switched back to the ez start. haha

use the trx brand. i don't know of aftermarket pull starter companies anyways...and the 2.5 pull start also works for the 3.3 as well

Thanks for the info. I did order one for the Revo and an extra for the T-Maxx. Are they hard to install? Any special precautions needed to install the pull starts?

I haven't had a chance to mess with the trucks due to being offshore.

i hope you dont mind blisters between your fingers! the tefln washer goes between the owb and the writing on the owb faces the backplate! i am pretty sure the string will be on the right. if lookin from the front of the chassis to the back.

personally, i would fit a new style thunder tiger pro .21 pull start unit and OWB. Both fit on and the t/tiger unit is much better than the trx unit. I swapped the one out on my revo 25 over a year ago and it's still going without a problem, whereas the original trx unit lasted all of 3 days even.

A pic to prove my point

i totally agree w/ jsu.. i am very new to nitro had to have recoil starter, i wasted $15 because it was only on there for 20 min.,,right back to the ez start:D

I hate to sound crass when i say this, but i prefer pull starts.

You dont need to carry a heavy wand, you dont have a motor to go wrong (EZ Start) and you don't suffer flat batteries in the starter wand. The only thing to worry about with a pull start is that the glow ignitor is charged and your Rx & Tx batteries are charged then away you go.

Everyone has there own preference, mine is for pull starts
