Has anyone actually seen one of the Power Racing Products Raptors up close, or had any good info on one. They look a lot like a Savage, just wondering if any of the parts would interchange with it.

It can be seen at the following link

It's got some nice rims though... but it does look like a Savage.

Yeah, and my mugen MRX-4 looks like a Kyosho Evolva. Whats up with that ?

looks kinda like a savage but there are a few diffrences but it is sure a somewhat copy i bet its now where near as tough, and at 400.00 i'd rather get a savage nice rims and tires

i might try and get that tank as it look like it fits the same and might not have the same probs

Ya, all these savage look-alikes are pissing me off, the savage is the original and the best!

Why is it pissing you off, you own stock in HPI?
If a company wants to make a kick off of something that works I don't see a problem in that. All the parts on this will only fit the Raptor from what the company says, so no Savage parts will fit it, except maybe bodies or wheels. Everyone copied the Buggy, or Truggy world in trying to make something better. Seems about the only thing lately that looks even a little different is the Revo, and ran against one this last weekend on a road race course and it wasn't real bad for a stock truck just being tied down.

Ok, I should've said it's annoying me, it's not really pissing me off, just annoying to me.

Just got to love how people think it's junk and it will be no good. If memory serves me right that is some of what was said about the Savage when it came out. Then people seen it run and how much more durable it was then a TMaxx and then alot of minds were changed.

Strong words. Do you have one or even driven one? If not, you should refrain from using such strong words since it might sway someone from actually making a purchase more suitable for their needs.

I remember when I was speaking to someone rom PRP about this truck. I think it would be a worthwhile purchase ... longer wheelbase, .27 engine, further improvements on the savage design, etc. Of course, there will be some things that might need improving but that's what hop-ups are for. I'm willing to try one out eventhough I am an on-road enthusiast myself. If anything, it'll give me something to play with while I wait for my batterypack to finish charging on my on-road. :smoke:

I would really be interested in how this truck performs. Just keeping up on the market. If anyone knows of someone with one, and has a savage, put the two to the test!

I've read reviews that the plastic is very weak and needs to be boiled right b4 u even run it.

I boil all my new plastic parts for my RCs before running them. This helps in relieving any stress with in the plastic itself.

Sorry cvec7 that was not a review over at acehardwarehobbies.com. That was more of a personal opinion. A review takes a little more then a couple of typed out lines. Like how did it handle, excellerate, braking. What's it like to work on and repair. Just my :2cents:
