Hardly Used PRP Swift For Sale

Hello guys. Please forgive me if I am imposing upon or hijacking this thread, but my Swift buggy is for sale.

This buggy is in EXCELLENT condition. I have ran 5 tanks thru it on a parking lot and thats it. It never saw dirt or a track. It has no scratches and is pristine.

It has ALL the upgrades:

Hard anodized and lightened chassis

Graphite upper deck

Polished front, center, and rear CVA universal joints

Machined front and rear hard anodized aluminum chassis braces

Threaded aluminum shocks

Laydown steering servo mounting
Quad disk brakes

Hardened CNC Cut Gears

And much much more.

http://acehardwarehobbies.com/2.2/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=18_33&products_id=5959

They sell for $440.00 new with radio and engine. I am also including Titanium Screws and an Aluminum Servo Arm.

The buggy I am selling does not include any electronics nor engine. It comes with one custom painted body and an extra clear body.

I will also include a Trinity Monster Horsepower Fuel Bottle, an Ofna Shock Set-Up Stand, a Ofna D-Cell Glow Igniter, 4-Way Wrench, and a Ofna Brick 1000 MAHrechargeable NIMH receiver pack. Also, I will include a Ofna blue-anodized car stand. The stand costs $30 alone. This is over $100.00 in equipment that I am giving for free.

My asking price including shipping is $219.00. The price is negotiable.

Please e-mail me if interested.

I think this forum will soon just be want ads for used Swifts. But I'll never sell mine! Too much money invested and I'll never be able to sell it for what's been put into it.
And besides, owning a Swift is like owning an old Corvair or a DeLorean. To those who keep theirs, it will be (is) a completely misunderstood, and under valued, classic.

( But I sure wish I win the Mayhem! )

i think the swift has great potential..just needs sorting regards teething problems..like on sunday i broke a cvd pin..one of the new ones with the rebate in it.owners shouldnt have to test the cars, thats the factories job.

I feel the same way Dave. I noticed www.happytimehobby.com no longer lists the swift on their page. What's the deal with that?

On slightly related news, I broke my pull start string today, is there a Rota start option for the Swifts?

i contacted happytime about it and they told me that they are no longer stocking them, another birdy told me they are no longer the distributor for prp in the usa so cannot stock them, make of that what you will
i live in the uk so we have schumacher distributing them.
i made a backplate on the lathe fo my engine so dont use pullstart sorry.

I ran a roto-start on my Swift until my SH .21 died, they work great. I haven't seen a part number to put one on my new engine, but I will if I find a way to do it.

Yeah, aparently the Chinese manufacturer undercut PRP by sellng a lower line version of the Swift buggy to RD Logics. http://www.rdlogics.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?item=99300 It would be nice to know that we could still get parts from either PRP or RDlogics.

We (PRP) still have most of the parts in stock for the Swift, including a lot of the new upgrade parts. There's lots of people out there in the U.S. with these cars still, and we'll support them as best and as long as we can....it's the least we can do. However, we discontinued selling the buggy itself.

Although if someone calls us asking for parts for their SHO, well, they can call you know who.

well I'm sure the people in the usa will be happy about your continued support of the swift.
dont you have another 1/8th on your site thats very similair to the swift?

dave

The Katana is very similar to the Swift, but very few of the parts are actually interchangeable as they are from different manufacturers. The Katana is better known as the Protech Enigma in Europe...my boss just wanted to continue to carry a buggy as a stopgap to keep some of our hobby shops happy.

Personally, I think the Katana is a step backwards technology-wise, but as a basher at the price most people will see it at, it does just fine.

ahh i see, well good luck with the katana,I'm sure it will sell if the price is good.

dave

sure it will sell but this is no way to do business , I'm sorry
the version sold here is a cutdown version again

the enigma pro is already struggling to hang on versus other brands
selling a cutdown MkI version when there is already a pro MkIII version
could harm again the name of the enigma brand
that's going backwards technology wise themselfs

the enigma pro is equal or even better by all means than the swifts: roadholding, parts quality, solidity,
it has the same front suspension lay-out as still have, the SVM cronos
and they still are the best road hugging buggys around!
why don't you import say enigma pros or bergonzoni or cronos ?? something worth while...

You're kidding??!! Does anyone distribute the Swift anymore (in the U.S.)? Awesome, so now I have a useless buggy with a bunch of manufacturer defects and no parts. It's nice that other cheap pieces of Korean crap are coming out to fill the void, but that doesn't help me with my $300 doorstop. I can't afford to buy another car because I sunk my money into this one. I'm sorry but I will never do business with Happy Time Hobby or PRP again.

does schumacher in the usa have any parts for it or maybe they can get parts(i live in the uk and they are the distributors over here)
try ebay if not, also someone else must have picked up the swift?

Just my 0.0.2$

Can anyone just tell what is 1:8 Buggy that runs tons of gallons without maintenace?
Without broking any part of it?
Without need to replace any part of it?
You can't find such car....

Swift, like other cars need maintenance and good care from owner side.

The 1/8 scale buggy you are looking for is a Kanai III. I run a Nov. P5 and I am on my fourth gallon of fuel and have had zero broken parts, nor any replaced parts besides changing the tires & diff oil.

Mugen clutch shoes with 1.0 springs. No fried clutchbells, broken a-arms, nothing!
