hello everybody well, this is my first time on this site and first time talking about rc cars/trucks. Well my buddy just got an rc truck (s-maxx) the other days and i started to look into rc cars myself. Right now I'm looking at the savage x and would like to know some pros and cons about the truck.
I'm not trying to start a flamming war here but i would like to know, from what i heard...does the savage x flip alot?
and also i know this would be a kinda hard question to ask but does the savage x go as fast as my friends s-maxx thats if i break it in properly?
thank you in advance.

To put it in a nutshell; comparing the SavageX to a Sportmaxx is like comparing a ferrari to a pinto. They're both cars, and that's about where the simularities end.

The SavageX is going to be tougher, faster, and more easy to work on than the Maxx. Plus, it's got a bigger engine on it. The stock radio gear is not too bad, either.

As with any MT, the truck will roll if you turn while going too fast. The X does come with a motor protector kit, which is fairly easy to assemble. Literally three minutes, and you'll be done.

The Savage also has a whole host of hopups readily availlable, just as the Maxx does. Just stay away from Integy stuff.

what would be some good hop ups out of the box? 3 speed trany?
and also i was just wondering about the speed because isnt the s-maxx a stadium truck? i thought that it would go faster... but thanks for setting that straight.

if u want an eveb better savage look at the savage x ss Its a kit so u build it yourself and has more upgrade and a bigger engine also, much faster than your friends

Out of the box, it's a very solid performer. Even with the stock s25, the truck will get up and move pretty quickly. Just remember to go over it as you would any other RTR, and loctite all screws that thread into metal, etc.

The 3 speed hopup would actually be a good addon to the truck. I'm looking into getting one for my savage coming up.

I've owned both a t-maxx and a savage, and of the two, the savage is the better truck all-around. I've hit things hard enough to shatter a tmaxx with a savage, and it kept on comin back for more.
