New body time. Proline 66 C10. If memory serves me, c10 is a 2wd 1000 basically. I want a heavy duty, and 4wd hence the K20.

The bed was too clean, so insert my used bed tools. Various shapes to shave the paint and apply silver. The body is ps54 cobalt green I think. Silver is tamiya silver.

Gonna plastidip and polt a wood bed in. In north and south bolt per plank. Gonna add plywood and or plank under to help out with durability.

Got a single board with a bolt for comparison. The bolts come in m1.6, m2, m3 and some offscale sizes. They are made by vanquish, rc4wd, ssd, and others, and in silver, black, gold, zinc and other materials.

Gonna set her up with a white top, tow mirrors, and s few goodies before heading inside. Wheels will be 1.55 steel factories converting to a 15.5 wheel.

Thanks. Gonna stain them. Might swap them for some with some rings and lines or I may create or burn knots in them.

Got some staining done. Only 3 coats so far.
Nice! Gonna look way cool when you get it finished.
Thanks. This is my learning truck. I'm gonna buy my dad a crawler. I already have the same body for his. That one will get an rc4wd v8 and scale transmission!

A quick shot of the "bed". Made it look like a lightly used steel bed. Plastidipping the outside so it can't be seen through the wood slats. Plastidipping also makes it reversable.

Mostly painted. I need black to back it, interior colors, and white. Decided to try magnet mounting so no holes.

Been wondering about magnet mounting myself. Looks good!
Thanks.
I had them for a year now. I guess its time to use it! I've seen a rock crawler use velcrow on a huge 1/6 scale body also.

Velcro is too fussy for me, but magnets are kind of intriguing. Had to lol at the fact you've had them so long, I do the same thing. 🤣

I hear you on velco, I was just amazed that the guy said it held up.

I'm a habitual offender. I got painted bodies unused, 5 or 6 of them and one half painted. The half painted one was a ram for a 3.3 long out of production.

For 3 years I've had 1.9 beadlock wheels and tires for a trailer build, dually wheels for another one. I need to start doing that with esc and motors. 😂

What is this "Plastidipping" you speak of?

What is the white in the windows?

Below is plastidip. Comes in spray form and liquid dipping form. It can be used to dip tool handles, people even use it on car wheels and paint as its peelable.

On this body its to darken under wood. On my nitro stampede, it looks like a bed liner.

In the beginning the top was yellow from masking tape so I can have a 2 color paint job. The white is the color vinyl the manufacture of the body chose. That is there so when the body is finished, it will have clear windows.

I painted the inside, but if I find the right color I want, I'm thinking of repainting the outside.

No updates yet. Ebay parts being ordered and a hobby shop visit this weekend.

Painted the body. Decided to white the outside also. If I find the right color, after some time I'm gonna repaint the outside.

After the outside, the interior is next. I have the steering wheel, window cranks, transmission and transfer shifter, rifle, shotgun, gun rack, and an axial or vaterra c10 chrome package I am using the tail light housing off of. One guj will be black, the other wood color, and the steering wheel I'm thinking painted center with chrome ring and spokes.

The leds are wired, I just need the slide switches and tobdim the rear down some. Also working on an interior light, license plate,

Within the next 4 weeks, I will be back on this truck. I decided to do this one and my wrangler as full builds with their own chassis. This will be my brushed old truck and the wrangler will be an end of the year only truck.

A whole year already.......... this passed me for the 4th time this morning. I see it every few months. Kinda the direction I'm going with my truck.

That would make a very cool RC build. Chase the guy down next time and get him to pull over so you can get more pics!
