I recently got the Bow Ties on 2.2'' rims, and man, let me tell you that these wear out fast as hell on pavement!!! They were (WERE) great in the dirt..... After about 4 tanks of fuel on the pavement these things are toast! I thought Proline's new M3 compound tires were made to have better wear? Maybe just for dirt use? Anyone else notice this as well?

well, they are dirt tires for a reason. if you want to go on-road i would just get a set of on-road tires. they will last you a long time. keep your off-road tires strictly for the dirt and stuff or you are going to be buying tires quite often. just get a set for off and on road and switch them out whenever you want.

I ran my bow ties on my NMT Racer on road but I was very careful. I didn't accelerate or decelerate hard, or steer hard (except a little bit of riding on 2 wheels to see if it would). I was pretty much putting around when driving them on-road to smell nitro.

Gil,
Dirt tires for dirt
Street tires for the street

It's as easy as that, any dirt tire is going to were quickly, even on hard dry dirt, but them on the pavement and they're toast quick

Bowties are for medium wet tracks, run them on a dry track and they're toast too.

I run proline blades and I love them they great front tires! as for the rears try the proline dirtworks, they are great for running on the street and still get a good grip in the dirt. I love them and there my tire of choice for all terrien (spelling) they also are of good compound so they don't wear very fast at all.

I have a pair of dirt hawgs on the rear and half ribbed half tiny knobs on the front of my rustler and after maybe 5 tanks through it I haven't noticed any wear at all. and I cruise up and down the street at some pretty good speeds.

It's not cruising then that do most of the damage, it's when you see how much traction you can get out of them and you push the car hard. Hard on gas, brakes, steering... I have a pair of slicks that came with my buggy when I bought it.

on my 1/8 scale buggy i swear i wear my tires down faster when I'm bashing on the dirt bmx track than when I'm powersliding around on the concrete parking lot...crazy stuff.

I like the Road Rage tires for haulin down the street, and doing donuts. They last a long time, even under those conditions.

you might also want to check out the tires that come on the hpi MT ... they are pretty tough , they are a lot like the pro line dirt works tho .. or was it dirt hawgs. .. i dunno , i know proline makes a tire just like it

This is good feedback on these tires. I have a set but have yet to run them on my savage. They however don't look like they would be for on road at all. I would stick to the road rage series tires or what have you. Later
