hey
has anyone used pl new bypass shock kit?? i was wonderin if it was realy what theysaid it was(i mean in how well it functions)
I'm realy tempted to buy one, but i dont like to buy stuff unless its gotten a good review! thanx:moped:

I have heard that they are awsome!! People say they work great for bumps and they dont bottom out on big jumps. I dont have them tho bcuz of their price. I'de rather just go with the big bores.

thanks. i have the integy shocks with functional piggyback and i paid 100$. are they descent shocks?? i like them cause they are smooth and function very well!

On towerhobbies you can get prolines shocks for just 135$. Those might be your best bet.

Dang those progressive shocks look nice. I think I'm gonna tell my friend to get them he is always willing to dish out the cash. Anyway he needs new shocks. But tower is the cheapest place I've seen the proline shocks..........Nick

Why buy them? Take your own set of shocks and make them. There isn't much to that set. One is a functional shock and the other is purely a dampener. Not too hard to make from a standard pair of shocks on each corner.

How would you make those?? i think it would be harder than heck to make shocks with those bypass holes in the side. the shock with a spring is just a basic spring, but the damper is set up pretty cool i think. you can like 100wt and it doesn't actualy feel like 100wt until your at the top of the shock.:2cents:

The only thing you can't manufacture at home (unless you are a machinist) is the "bypass" sleeve. Other than that, this set-up is a single shock (spring and dampener set) with an additional dampener on each corner of the truck. In other words, you can take a regular shock set (consisting of two full shocks per corner) remove the spring from one shock on each corner and put a heavier weight oil/silicone in the non-springed shock cylinder...and viola. You now have your very own set-up similar to Pro-Line's.

In the end, I would still have to ask what performance gains this particular suspension modification buys? A smoother ride? Better performance on landing big air? I'd be curious to see the actual improved performance that this supposedly buys you.

In other words, I'm not convinced. Before I'm going to go and drop a chunk of change like that on a modification to my suspension (which already handles everything very solidly), someone is going to have to really sell me on it.

that makes sense. i am a machinist but it would be kind of difficult to do. the only performance gain i can see is big air with out efecting your cornering with heavery wt oil. like you I'm not bought yet but i am intrested in how it will perform. i like my suspension just fine for now.
