How thick is that diamond plate? Personally I think it looks cheesy on an otherwise neat looking truck.

The chassis is actually 3/16(strong), not sure what it is in mm.I will have some pictures posted in the next few days,hopefully.

Hey he said he's building a SHOW truck so he SHOULD care about what others feel about his truck if he wants to win any awards. I just think it looks cheap considering he has the most expensive upper and lower arms, the most expensive show shocks, and a couple of the most powerful engines in his ride. If he wants it to be truly "custom", I think he should mill the chassis from some really thick 7075 aluminum or titanium and do some custom graphics or lettering cut out from the cnc or waterjet. I've seen that diamond plate used before and it still looks like....diamond plate.

Soo diesel, what brings you to this low you are feeling to heckel like you do?It don't matter if you like it or not, the chassis it cut out and is actually in a custom pattern design. I considered having the the truck laser or jet cut,but i am hands on and have the mentallity that if i can build it or craft it i will.The truck is not just for show but obviously for go.I plan on using the for pulling.

Hey buddy I am not heckling you. The rest of your truck looks clean, IMO the diamond plate detracts from the overall look of the truck.

Why don't you post some more pics of the truck so we can see the chassis work, it's hard to tell what you have done to it from the single picture posted.

Keep an open mind, it's the only way to progress in this hobby. There isn't always only one right way to do something. Just don't take it as a personal attack on you. We all came here to learn and to share our ideas, if you don't like them then don't take them simple as that. :cheers:
 
cool, yeah the picture was at race rock, i am trying to get some new pics up,i should have then up hopefully before tomarrow.I agree on the smileys diesel,i got the next round.
 
I have to make a new steering link set-up,one more thing to postpone the project.
 
Pictures don't do this truck justice. I have seen it in person and it is one of the MOST AWESOME trucks some people will ever see. Show piece? YEAH!! But I wouldnt wanna line up with it on any course. Afraid it would squish my single Collari Savage!! Diamond plate- aluminum, titanium...IT DOESN"T matter on this one. It really is super cool. Any truck with this much time and effort in it deserve's props from any respectable rc'er whether we agree with the choice of materials or not.
 
What did I miss, I only see one photo posted and its not a good one.
I would like a chance to see what it looks like but where are the photos?

I give credit where credit is due.
I couldn't cut my own chassis, So I at least give you props for that.
 
Hey man dont take this the wrong way but i dont see why you would put all that money into a truck jsut for show or to pull things. I mean thats alot of money, It does look nice and i have no comment on the diamond plate, idk its jsut rare to see it on nitros so i guess its a different approch, and very creative. Looks like a shelf Queen for shure, hey when u enter a show thingy if u get first do u jjust get a prize or do u get money? IDK, very clean and sexy truck.
