This is probly a dumb question but here goes......Should I not be running 30% nitro in my r/c's?? Should I switch to 20%?? Will the 30% really effect the life of my engine enough to stop using it?? And will I lose alot of performance when I go to 20% if i do?? I know I will have to retune blah Thank guys

No question is a dumb question. Yes running at 30% does reduce your engine life. If u do go down to 20% you'll notice a change in your performance and you'll have to re-tune the engine. It is recommended that since you started on 30%, keep running at that %.

hey, if they didnt want u to run 30% nitro in ur r/c, they wouldnt make it, correct? makes sense.

later

With that being said whats up with 10%? I don't see many people offering it but have seen it being offered at some different places.

They make nitrous and it destroys your engine on an RC.....heh but yeah 30% is gonna reduce engine life but the performance will be better. Bashing I would use 20%(blue thunder in my case) and 30% once you start racing seriously.

ya its all about the lubrication that is IN the fuel itself. and 30% is more fuel that lubication so youl get more explosion in engine but a litle less lube to accompanie it its more for serious racers in race to kick extra kick, but bashers like myself should run 20% cuz its just average and still unbelviabe performance ya no cuz i mean these things can go 40-50 mph either way and anythig to make you're rc engine run better(not only performancee but running temperature) would be good to do, and id say screw 10% cuz its hard to find and just not cool ok later

Thanks guys, I guess I will keep running 30% in my savage till I replace the piston and sleeve then i will go down to 20%

I used to think that 30% would shorten the life of an engine and 20% was the way to go. 30% will give you more power running a richer fuel/air mixture and that equals cooler temps. Some say that 20% nitro content allows for easier tunning over the 30% content. I have switched back and forth between nitro contents without problems. If you do decide to use a 30% you may want to consider re-shiming the head in most instances to get the maximum performance. Do check with the manufacturer's recomendations.

i use 30% in my novarossi rs12, and i have not had any problems. you may all think I'm nuts considering thisis a 300 engine but hey, it preforms better with 30% so why not use it to its potoenial!

I myself have never delt with anything higher then 20%, I;m just going on my thoughts and others comments. Yes, 30% may not hurt your rngine as bad with a richer A/F but how much does that stuff cost, lol. I pay $20 a gallon of Blue Thunder in a neighboring city and $30 in my home city. How mouch is average 30%?

I pay around 30 bucks for a galon trinity 30%. I used to use blue thunder but i dont like it as much.

On my next gallon probably next week I am picking up some odonnel 20% for my picco since it has a higher oil content. Should run cooler too. As of now I am running Sidewinder backyard basher and it work great. 20%nitro and 16%oil. I can't wait to see how much of a difference it is. I have had great results with it in the past I just want something with a higher oil content for my picco.

Yikes, I run 14% oil in 30% fuel. Seems like you're wasting the nitro if yo get a higher than 14% oil level.

Hmm, Pirata really?? I am still kind of a newbie but the paperwork that came with the picco recommended 18%oil to be run in it. Honestly I am seriously happy with the current fuel that I run. All of my engines look great afterwords.

Yikes. I have always believed that 18% is better served in helos and planes.

If your truck runs great with 18% keep it running with 18%. You're the only one you need to impress with what your RC does.
