just wondering if anybody else has had any problems with rc ravens products. i for one got screwed on a roll cage of theirs. it bends very easy (even on wet soft ground landings!!) in their pitch to sell the damn thing they stated it was a powdercoated roll cage not painted like some of their other competitors. Bullshit! every weld on it is chipped of and many other places are chipped and flaking off too. and this has never been run on pavement, only grass and dirt, and only been ran on the truck 4 times!! and i bought their dual rate springs that he said(the guy on the phone) where the leader in all the classes of springs. i can't tell a big difference in these and my stock springs. and just today i got in the mail a aluminum rear body post...broke that on a rollover too. i guess i just won't order anything else from them.

anyway just wondering if anyone has had the same experience with them as well...i'm through bithcin'...for now.

i have never had a problem with R/C raven. i have their chassis, chassis braces, bumpers, and skids, and they work great. u should contact them and let them know that u are having problems, maby u can get new stuff.. :D I'm assuming u are getting the parts right from R/C raven? not from like eBay or ne thing.

also, i find the powder coating to be very strong, besides the skids, nothing else has been scraped up.:w00t:

Powdercoating Is strong but like any coating it will flake if not preped Properlly. It will scratch but not easily. I fyour running on asphault wiht no lid and flip it. Yes it will scratch and eventually scratch all the way off.

I do all kinds of coatings So I know 1st hand. I own a coating business CE COATINGS and do ceramic, powder and thermal coatings.

i got a 30 dollar full roll cage on ebay, with a life time warrenty and looks pretty nice, not even that heavy

Hey Bashmaster So did I. Is the company based in Simi Valley, Ca? If so I just pu one on my wifes Tmaxx. LMK how that works!! I won't have time till this weekend to race.

i did call rc raven and they are sending me some replacement screws for the cage at no cost but i'm still very dissatisfied at the roll cage itself. and yes i did buy it from their store and not from someone off of ebay. like i said though it has never been run on pavement (i live in the arkansas sticks..we don't have pavement 'round hear  i know real powdercoating isn't supposed to scratch that easy, oh well. it's not a beauty queen, it's made to run, can't keep it looking good forever. just wish people would sell what they say they are selling. sound like everybody is pretty satisfied though, that's good. just wanted to give a heads up if anyone else had bad dealings with them. i wish their was some other people close buy to race and thrash with, then i could bitch to them instead of wasting your guys' time:hehe: thanks for the responses.

i got a roll cage off eBay froma seller called Tmaxxrus and they have a site... www.tmaxxrus.com i think. i got a chrome plated full roll cage for $40, and i have had it for over a year. it has its normal scratchs but other wise that cage is still sound. i mean even landing on its lid on pavement, its still in great shape.

I have the R/C Raven Titanium cage and it has worked great and i run no lid. Powder coating will not flex like a good paint it will crack and flake off-Marc

Hey I've got the Cowboy Creations cage as well! Man I tell ya what for $40 you just can't beat it. I beat the hell out of my T-Maxx and I've yet to break this thing. I used to crack fuel tanks regularly, not anymore! I also don't run my truck with a lid anymore. New Era sells just a center roll bar for close to that price, and their full cage costs over $120!
Best $40 I've ever spent for the T.

I didn't like the screw kit I got from them for my maxx. All the hex heads stripped out in the top.

I've got the RC Raven springs for my Progressive suspension shocks. They are great! But, I must say they are for trucks that are heavy, hence they are stiff and will not have the plush ride from the stock T-Maxx. I love mine! When I got my Prgressive Suspension shocks, my truck still sagged even when I put the spacers in to make it stiff. So, I bought the RC Raven Springs and what do you know no more problems $250 later!!!

yeah they screwed up my order once they kept sending me the wrong stuf:( after 3 months i got all the right parts but the stuff worked fine just skidplates :w00t:

on all of these roll cages you guys are running, do you think they're saving your bulkheads? The guy at r/c raven told me that the cage would tie my bulks together and virtually eliminate them breakage. But i've found the cage actually puts more pressure on them. When everything is bolted in tight it almost seems that if you where to drop a hair on one of the bulkheads they would snap!! I mean they are under some serious tension. They never broke this easy before. I'm replacing bulks every time i go out and run. I'm going to run the maxx with no cage for a while and see if that helps anything. I know a guy that is devoting part of his machine shop to making titanium aftermarket tmaxx stuff, especially cages. When i get a chance to try one out i'll try to get him on here and see if he can peddle some of his goods...if they turn out allright and not just another pile o' chit cage. thanks

On that Cowboy Creations cage, the cage hooks up at the front and rear bumpers, and the sides rest on the chassis right in the kick-up part on the sides. I've crashed, bashed and thrashed my Maxx and have never broken a bumper, bumper mount ,or another fuel tank! It's a kick-ass product for the money no doubt.

hey, i upgraded to Integy aluminum bulkheads before i got my cage, and they are a good deal. i havent had a problem with ne thing bending, breakin...... nothing besides my rear diff blowin out.. time for RRP diff gear parts and some other goodies...

:whhooo: :breakdown :D
