I installed all the Hot-Racing's aluminum shock parts on my Revo and only got a 1/4 tank of fuel burned before blowing out 3 of the blue diaphragms in the shock caps.

I'm positive it's because of the vent hole they put in the back. It's blowing a small pin hole right where they drilled it.

A friend has the New Era ends (no holes) on his Revo and has never had a problem.

Has anyone else tried the Hot-Racing ends??

What is the idea of putting the hole in the end?? :nono:

The stock ends have a hole in the end also, its to let excess oil bleed out. Did you change the pistons also? If the holes in the pistons are too small it could build up too much pressure and blow your diaphrams.

The stock ends have the hole in the side through the threads, (in front of the diaphragm and not behind it) it lets out the excess oil during assembly. When the diaphragm pushes to the back of the stock end it doesn't have that void so it can't blow out.

You're right I guess I spoke before my brain was fully engaged LOL. I have no idea why there would be a hole AFTER the diaphram.

Yeah ... me either

I called the place I ordered them from to see if anyone else is having this problem and he told me I had too much oil in the shock(s) ...... It kinda make sense but I made extra sure I didn't have too much.

I chalk it up as money wasted .... I'm ordering the New Era caps :devious:

Check this out ........

I turned the diaphragm inside out to show the wound (the side you see is the side that goes to the inside of the cap) I even had to de-burr the inside of the hole when I got em, they were nasty :puke:
