I have a problem with my Nitro Start S-25 engine. When I start it it starts pretty easy so there isnt really a problem there. When i set it on the ground and run it it works pretty well untill I slow down to turn. Then I hold the trigger down pretty far and it bogs down almost like it is being flooded. Should I turn the low idle needle? If so what way should I turn it?

Thanks,
Powerman

it should tell you that in your engine manual. if I'm correct, you should turn you low-idle needle clockwise just a tad and keep trying the same thing until its right.

The problem is not the idle set needle or the low speed needle. From what you are describing, it seems you might be a bit on the too rich side for the HIGH SPEED NEEDLE. I would suggest turning the HSN clockwise (leaning the engine) a bit at a time with test runs in between adjustments.

That is based on what you described for bogging down...

Based on the rest of what you are saying ("...slow down to turn. Then I hold the trigger down pretty far...") my gut tells me you are running too lean. As you slow down (finger off the throttle or brakes applied) the engine consumes the fuel that it had in it. Then dropping the hammer, the engine wants more fuel that is not available and bogs to a stall. That describes a too lean condition.

Try the first suggestion here....lean it out a bit. If the behavior does not stop, then go the second route and try richening it up (turn the HSN counter-clockwise).

Well if you don't have a good smoke trail when you try to get on it and it stumbles then it's too lean.

He is hitting the brakes and closing the carb slide to shut and closing off the fuel.

I think he needs to adjust his idle set point and the throttle trim so that it stays open enough when he is on the brakes.

Newbie.

Nope thats not the problem because thats the first thing I checked.I am in the process of makeing it more rich, because there isnt much of a smoke trail at all.
