I just sealed up my 8port.I sealed the backplate and the carb neck with clear silicone. The engine was running hot and I though it was an air leak somewhere.I replaced the fuel lines and checked the tank(Ofna tank mod) while I sealed the engine. The engine is still gettin to hot though.I reset my needles and put in a new OS 8 plug. It's putting off plenty of smoke but the temps won't stay below 300!!!The engine was cutting out from a WOT launch launch but I tweaked the needle a bit and it helped some. The needles are barely 1/2 turn lean from factory.Any ritcher and the truck won't stay running. It's holding a good idle and seems to be running ok but it's just to hot.I noticed a little fuel coming from my HSN so I replaced the O ring.Where else could there be an air leak?????The only thing I haven't checked is my fuel filter witch i'm going to do today but there does't appear to be any air bubbles in my lines. The engine only has about 2 1/2 gallons through it and i've taken pretty good care of it.Anybody have any ideas???

it sure sounds like an air leak. are you using a temp gun and if so check it with another gun to make sure that yours is not out calibration or change the battery.
check the head bolts to make sure that they are tight enough.

I've got it runing better since I posted this. There was a small leak around the glowplug so I took it out, replaced the brass ring and cleaned it really good and it's not leaking anymore.I got the temps down to 290 and that was after several high speed runs and heavy throttle bashing so I just need to play with the needles some more to get the temps a little lower.
