I just bought a rs4 type3 ss and when I got it it was set up for a starter box. I dont have on so I was going to convert it to the rotostart because that is what I use on my savage. So I ordered the parts like the back plates and one way bearing then when I tore it apart there is no pin on the crankshaft for the starting shaft to catch. I was windering what i could do. Thanks Matt

Also what other engines will fit in the rs4 without much trouble?

Unfortunately you'll either have to buy a different engine or a new crankshaft. Without the pin on the crank there's no way to mesh it to the starter parts.

If you're looking for a new engine, any small block will fit. If you're planning on racing, I'd check with your local club to see what size rules they have. At this point, you can get small block engines from .12 to .18 typically..
