Firstly Hi to all this is my first post and the savage is my first nitro RC. so far impressions are very good, but now the annoying part....

i have just purchased my nitro savage 21 and got to say i love it ! but now have caused myself a lot of trouble by accidentally adjusting the Mid Range Needle. now i can't get it to run right . i've tried putting it back to factory but it wont start. i've been playing with it for a couple of days now but it just isn't right !

is there anyway known of how to set up this needle??

thanks

youll have to just put everything back to factory; yet like you said it wont start yet. all you have to do is play with the idle a little. i always lean it out to get the engine started. then as i lean out the hsn and lsn i richen the idle back up so that it doesn't idle so ungodly fast. but when it does fire up lean the hsn first until your pretty much happy with the speed and temp, then lean out the lsn until you have a smooth transition from stop to going really really fast. remember to keep adjusting the idle though throughout the process. hehehe just try that if it doesn't work than I'm an idiot. (i hope this doesn't backfire lol)

tried that , i think my problem is me touching that damn MRN screw. i dont understand how to achieve factory settings with the LRN and the MRN as they both depend on each other to set there closed points. !?!?
ie if i open the throtle i can screw the MRN in till it's hom which is about 4 turns ( book says 3 1/4 ) but if the throttle is closed then the LRN stops the MRN from screwing home ?? pain in the @ss !!!

will keep trying.

:trout:

got it !! now going like a little sweetie !!!

the problem was that i was flooding the engine . i read on another site that when it cuts out for no apparent reason this means one of two things and the was to tell is to listen to the noise before it shuts off. if it just splutters and stops your mix is way too high. if it starts to climb on the revs before shutting off it is too lean. i had to adjust the MRN in almost one full turn and the LRN in about 1/4 to stop it shutting off after 5 secs of running. every little turn let it run a few seconds more.

i did notice that there is alittle trail of smoke when it is running which i know is good. but there does seem to be a little puff around midway through the revs which when i get the courage up i may try very slightly adjusting the MRN in about 1/16 to 1/8 turn to see if it helps but other than that it seems to have been text book stuff after i got it to start. i will need to get an ir temp probe to check the temp just to be on the safe side.

i have ordered a hpi polished tuned pipe ( not the ribbed one ) but would like to know if the ribbed one or the polished one is best ?? as i can cancel it because it is on back order just now.

thanks
