Problem tuning savage xl

Hey fellas I bought my savage xl 2weeks ago, I broke it in right way as the mannual says. I lean my HPN just a bit and my truck was runing great. It changed to 3rd gear all the time, I was hitting wheelies everytime. Now I took out the other night and it was acting up, it wasn't changing to 3rd gear, no wheelies n it was hard to turn it on caz it kept shutting off. I had to keep holding the trottle in order to turn on.I'm not sure if the weather was a factor caz it was really windy... I appreciated if any one can help.

Probably a combination of weather change and the engine just broke in. Lean the needles a bit per the instructions until it runs properly again.
Replace the glow plug too, it's always a good idea to toss the glow plug after the first five tanks. Your plug could be bad throwing the tune off.

Savage Xl

I'm using MC 55 glow plug... It brand new b4 i ran it. So I shouldn't touch the LPN at all, to give it that extra power?

Scrogg is right about changing that glow plug. It's a good idea to change the plug after a good break in as the rich running of the running-in of an engine can cause a plug to lack in performance.

Weather is always a factor with nitro engines. Not necessarily the wind, but temperature and humidity are the biggest factors that will alter your tune.

Okay thanks... After I finish riding that night I went home home and reset the HPN to factory setting, caz I wasn't sure if I had lean it to much n I had lost count on the turns in leaning it. So next time I ride my truck I put in a new glow plug lean the HPN upto I see good signs of runing, and do I touch the LPN? Sorry for asking so much, I just want the truck runing it's best.

you may need to re-tune your engine and your tranny a little bit

You do need to adjust the LSN, that is where your acceleration comes from.
