newbie with a used t-maxx. i believe that my half shafts are installed backwards. should the splined inner shaft connect to the differential output yoke or to the knucke? right now it is connected to the knuckle and I seem to be having a problem with twisted and broken shafts. is there a beefier upgrade shaft without having to change out a lot of other parts?
 
I am not sure that it really matters that much actually. The stock shafts are kinda weak and like twisting up like a candy cane. This makes them pop out of join and break. The options are either steel CVDs or custom made dog bones. I did CVDs and the work well for me. I would go to Ebay and just search for T-Maxx CVD. The ones by Traxxas are a bit overpriced IMO.
 
if you buy them for the traxxas web site there 80 bucks I found them on ebay for 48 delivered.
 
is there going to be problems with the front differential if using the steel cvd? i hear that by "beefing " up one part you have simply moved the weak point to another part.
 
You should nor have any diff problems unless you are running a big block...Yes Ranger you are correct about you beef up one part..... However as long as you have your slipper set up correctly you should never have any problems. At least with the CVDs you will not have the twisted up drive line to deal with any more.
 
thanks all.......as hard as i have been on this truck so far, there would be no excuse for me not to have steel CVDs.
