Recently bought my tmaxx classic and want to upgrade it new engine, aluminum, ect. anything important i should do to it. Planning to put in a picco .26 or a o.s. .21tm going to put on cvds. What mods are needed to make it good (want to race it)?

i would start with a 2.5 or 3.3 instead of the .15....more trouble than its worth IMHO.....just my .02

Alloy is only for stuctrual componets on a T-Maxx. Bulkhead, shocktowers ect.... As you should know that does not include A-arms as all gurus know. With the classic Pro .15 Maxx you will have to do a 2.5 conversion and buy a drop in made for the application engine or find a small block that has a rotory carb barrel.

A twin turboed Supra motor will drop right into that MAXX, lol I'm an idiot... Anywho, I would drop a 3.3, and if you want to modify the engine prior to installation, send Extreme RC Mods here on RCNT a PM and see what he can do to bring out more power.

As far as allow parts go, like joey said before, alloy A-arms are just not basher friendy when it comes to something that hauls bawls. I have been on this site for almost 2 years, and the ONLY brand of A-arm recomended is the RPM front and rear arms.

i really want the better engine need power I'm not a amazing when it is hop ups just needed to make sure I'm not missing anything i should do. First tmaxx i was planning on aluminum bulk heads (have replaced at least 10 time on the front of my emaxx then bought aluminum) i agree Metalhead Matt thge pro .15 does suck it is old wont tune well and has no power after a new a engine goin in the it garbage.

If you are seriously thinking about installing a .21 or .26 in an old pro.15 TMaxx you will need to upgrade every part of the drive train or it will fail in short time.

Aluminum to the tires is fine, but it will weigh your truck down and will bend in a wreck. I know you like shiny aluminum and that's cool but you've been warned:D

aluminum parts should only be used in certian areas of the truck and the a arms are not one of them one good smack and you are out the cost of alum if you bash real hard Rpm at least thats what i've been reading on here for a couple of years I am not that hard on mine so i still have the plastic and if you do break them the are cheap.

realy don't have to replace the diffs ,I had a 3.3 in my 15 and never have changed one yet .

meh, I'm gonna go with aluminum to the tires ;) i want to make this the most blinged out tmaxx you ever did see...wait till after xmas, you will see lol. my maxx right now it pretty beat and banged up...with a few new parts and the help of a buffing wheel and the right compounds youll see a nice little "shelf queen" that will actually get used lol !

besides i kinda wana weigh it down a bit, i think I'm going to throw a big block in it ;)

any mods to do to the pro .15 engine just pulled it to clean the truck and I'm stuck with the engine for a little while.

A fully functional blinged out Tmaxx does not come cheap. By fully functional I mean using quality aluminum parts that can take abuse without bending/breaking like most of the inferior aluminum aftermarket parts do.

If you “want to make this the most functional blinged out tmaxx you ever did see” it will cost you thousands $$+.

Just to give you an idea of how much you can invest, check out a set of the best bulkheads you can get for a Tmaxx.

There’s not much you can do to the little .15 other than some internal porting to increase the power a little.
No matter what you do to it, the TMaxx will still be underpowered with the .15engine.

lol I'm not planning on taking my maxx sky diving with no chute man...
