I'm looking to add on a new printer to my new computer. But I don't really want to pay a lot. So what I'm looking for is a good printer that prints good text and good photos for under $100. ZDNet recommends the Epson Stylus C60. And that seems reasonable. What would any of you computer gurus recommend?

C-60 is a good choice. Slow, but has a great photo output for your $$.

Do not try to go down to the C4? series.

Let me know when you need some cartridges.
We get 14.99 for the black and 17.99 for the color.
Free shipping for RCNT..

The cartridge cost will eat you alive, and the printer is over $100.00.

It is a cool printer.

Epson printers are great! I use the Epson Stylus Photo EX, great color, prints real nice. I'm not familiar with the exact model you are looking at but I have been very happy with my Epson.

You da man Eddy. I was figuring that I could lean on you for some affordable ink. So far that's the printer I'm looking at. I am going to shop a bit more, but will probably be getting one in the next month or 2.

I like the Lexmark Z45 or for $120 go for the Z65

2400X1400 and 4800X2400 respectivly

Both fast both nice color and crisp black....ink refill kits are cheap for these too.

Again a good printer but $60-$65 for a set of cartridges.

Most** Printers on the marker today are good.
For everyday use a person on a budget needs to look at the price of the consumables.

Bang for the buck goes to Epson or Canon for the fact that great quality aftermarket products are available.

People that need to get a printer for a specific purpose may not choose to look at the price of cartridges but the **budget minded home user should look at the over all price they will pay over a 3-4 year period.

So for the $100-125.00 tag I think the C-60 is an excellent choice.
Thats my story and Ill stick to it.;)

I Agree Eddy....was just offering my $.02.

No Matter which printer you go with I would suggest using Ink-Tec refills. They work great with the Lexmarks and Cannons. I dont know about Epson but I can usually get about 10 refills from a brand new cartridge. Saves me tons o cash. About $10/black and $15/color. Each refill is 20ml

Check them out (http://www.inkjetcartridge.com)

Inktec is a good company.
www.inksale.com has their prices beat all to hell :cheerful:
I manufacture refilling kits.
The 10.00 per refill on the black we have for $2.85 (7 refills for $20.00.)

We have a refilling kit for the lexmark for 49.00 you will get 7 Black refills and 14 color refills for $49. Do the math.

I operate one of the largest ink sites on the internet and drop ship for 9 other ink sites. This translates to about 3000-4000 cartridges and 400-500 refill kits per month.

See, you never know who's RC habit your supporting.

hay eddy, are you in competition with Universal Inkjet Refill systems?

Do you have cartridges for the epson 3000?

The C60 is an awesome little printer. We use it for sending quick proofs to clients (not for color proofing because inkjet printers are not that accurate). Great photo printing and it is pretty quick for text.

Epson is all we use here at my office for color printing. At home I use 980 and 3000.

We don't sell universal inks,
All inks are not the same. Sure, you can use universal ink but you'll be sorry.

Kelvin the owner of universal inks is one of the most impressive marketing people I have ever met. Its to bad he doesn't care about his users. He gets over 26% returns on his products. For him that acceptable because his profit is about 94%.

We do have the cartridges for the 3000. Ill have to check the price but I think they are around 15.00 or so each.

I use the Epson C-82 for home and the HP G-95 all in one at work. We also have several color lasers and black lasers.

The owners name is actually Russ Kalvin but he goes by Kelvin a lot. I helped him out when he first started. I did his logo and his first packaging designs and bottles. This was way back when I first started. Then he got so big that he hired an in house art department, but before that his son Jeff started doing the packaging. We still do stuff for him. Tough guy to deal with.

Let me know if you have some 3000 cartridges. We may pick some up.

Hey Eddy - drop me some prices for the HP 6110 all in one printer. I need both color and black. Oh, and do they make a 'special' photo cartridge for it? And do you need to use special inks for decals, bumperstickers or tshirts????

In the past 4 years i have had 3 printers photography is alos a hobbie so i looked long and hard at printers ..lexmark z-11 surprising good print out quailty but 30 bucks a cart .

Thanks for the links ImBroken. They are for the C62. I have looked at them both and they look the same. Is there any real difference between the two? The C60 seemed to get better reviews but isn't as widely available. Is the C62 supposed to be a replacement for the C60?
