Tonite I broke the primer button off. I'm new to the hobbie but I liked using it. Is there a way to remove the primer from the tank and putting a new one in or is there a way to start the engine just as eazy without it. Second question ,should the tank be emptyed every time I'm done for the day or just if I'm not going to run it for several days or more,Like that is going to happen with my four year old boy! He can really drive that SOB!!

Well, if the primer button is broke, you can get a screw and an O-ring and epoxy the screw(with oring aroudn it) to the tank where the primer button was. Starting the engine without the primer button on wouldnt work-I think. But without the pressure of the tank, the engine, and the pipe, fuel probably wouldnt even get to the carb. I think you should just buy a new tank w/o primer. In many cases, the primer button is the source of air leaks. Air leaks are a bitch to fix.

After you do a fix like SHK said, to prime the line put your finger over the exhaust tip and a few small pulls will prime your line. Be sure to use transparent fuel line so you can see the fuel reaching the carb. I usually clean my tank every few days with mild soap and water and dry it out real good with a air compressor. The fuel lines get cleaned at the end of every day I run. The fuel lines have a better chance of getting clogged than the tank.

:marshall: To get the primer button out, Have you tried WISHING it out? If that does not work, try using your magic wand!!!

We seem to have a new smart ass on the board. Welcome to RCNT.

Primer

I removed primer button and sealed it with epoxy last night. I was seeing a lot of air in the line, especialy when the tank was
1/4 empty or more. Lid seals fine so I thought it was primer. Friend has an HPI road car and has same issue.

If you haven't already, you can try using a pressure line about a foot long and coiling it about three turns between the pipe and tank. This helps keep the pressure a little more equal over the tank of fuel.

Right on, sounds like a good Idea. I only have about a quater gallon of fuel through her and I did follow the break in procedure but it is just running so hot. It's already over 105 degrees out here during the day. I keep her fat (rich) but still hot. just bought a temp gauge today so tonight I will play!!!! Was thinking of an aftermarket head, is it worth it?

Invest in a better pipe first. I took a pipe off of a totaled heli of mine and put it on my savage. It's a big increase in power over the stock pipe. As for my head, it's bashed pretty hard but still does the job. Just a while ago, I was running and had the 21bb screaming, at a full tank it was temping at 230, but by the time it was down to 1/2 it was really hitting and temping at 320 and the top of the head was just at the point of boiling spit.

Back to the point: solve the fuel system probelm first, then put some power goddies on (pipe), then get a cool loking head.
