In a previous post, a couple of guys said that the Ofna blue/chrome 1:8 starter box is the best to get (12V). I went to the Ofna website. My question is "What is the purpose of the power panel and is it worth the money?"

Ofna #10250 & #10253

I have a Mugen MBX-4 XR Works with a O.S. RZ-V01B. My Mugen starter box stall's quite often. I read an article about using hotrod E-Maxx motors, and better connectors. For that kind of money, I can buy a NEW starter box.

Thanks guys,
Rob B.

The purpose of the power panel is - it comes with glow igniter that’s plugs into the panel, lets u pull 12v from the panel. Other then that, to me it’s a waste, it’s rather have a rechargeable igniter (just remember to keep it charged).

My box has one, I have used it once in the 3 months I’ve used the box.

i use that box. i did not hook up the glo igniter although i probably should. the starter box will turn over any engine that you want to start.

I just got one, slightly used, from a member here. It's a nice unit, no power panel though. I don't think a power panel is necessary anyway. Just carry a glow starter with ya and just in case, get one that can take regular batteries just in case you forget to charge the glowstarter. It's only $10 tops.

Here is the unit that I bought. A Dynamite "Torque Start Heavy Duty Universal Starter Box." It has a high torque motor that'll start the toughest of new motors.

It turned my VERY stubborn OS 15 cvr. You can ask Nitromaniac, he can vouche for my frustrations with this engine that refused to turn.

.15 and a .21 are 2 diff beast compression wise.. i know dyamite has that 1/8 scale box that u have to build, i heard thats a beast of a box too

Oh, I know that the 15 and 21 are different. But even Nitroaddict will attest to this starter box. According to him it was the only box that could turn over his OS .21 VZ-R

I was having trouble doing that too, well, when I was breaking in my OS21rg and ripping the poop out of my hands I finnaly got pissed and went and got this starter box! what I didnt realize when trying to start my buggy was a really dumb ass mistake that happens when you are too anxious and frustrated! I figured out that problem with the help of Nitroaddict and the thing fired first pull, of course this all happens after I buy the new starte box! now after I broke this mill in it fires up first pull almost everytime and since I am not a racer I really dont have the need for the box! when I bashed with nitroaddict in orlando i brought the box with me , he was breaking in his OSVZ-r(i think thats right) and has two boxes that wouldnt hardly turn that mill over! pulled mine out of the box and it fired it right up, MOF tony is the only one who ever used the box! no big hurry to sell it but I hate to toss the dough and see it sitting on the shelf! I think its a great deal!
sorry for the long post but I am a cronic explainer!
