Just picked up a used Power Racing XR80 from a friend and thought I would post a couple pics. It's got a .27 in it and it's real fast. It seems to be a pretty nice car.....

That looks pretty cool, I heard those go 80mph out of the box, pretty crazy if thats true. How do they handle compared to 1/10s?

Took it out today and worked on tuning the engine. Seems to be kinda touchy but that may be due to the fact that the engine only has about 10 tanks on it so far. Probably going to be a little erratic till it gets fully broken in.

As far as handling, it's not nearly as twitchy as my 1/10th scale cars. It corners in a much more fluid motion and I had to adjust my driving to make the car get around the track. It's extremely fast and could probably do 80 as they say but the track I was at didn't have enough room to wind it all the way out. The big rear tires certainly give it that extra traction it needs.

I think I'm going to like this car once I get used to driving it.

I really want a 1/8 scale but there is no way I can afford to maintain it the way I want to.

I seen that it my lhs rtr. Good luck with it.

Thats the car I've been looking at for awhile now.
I have many on-road 1/10th scales, but i want to step into the bigger/faster scale soon.
I'm not a racer and will not be making trips to compete...so far the PR XR80 looks to be the best bet for what i want......and at a great price too!!

If you have an engine and radio system then the XR8 is the way to go. It's like 50 bux more but It has all the upgrades installed. The stock RTR radio is junk but it does work.

I seem to be having air filter issues with mine, I noticed what looks like black soot in the carb. I cleaned it out and changed to a different filter and it did it again. If you get the RTR one, keep an eye on the air filter.

Thanks,
I do have a new Ofna .28 w/pull start..and a very good radio...i might go the XR8 route then?

Yeah, you might at least check it out. The XR8 is the race verson.
