You might be geared a bit tall causing it to slip a tad much. Did you rough up the shoes and clean the inside of the bell with sandpaper when you installed the new shoes? I also clean the shoes/bell with DA to remove any oil to avoid slippage as the clutch wears in.

I'd move the trans forward a bit if you could and put in 1/8 style clutch. I can't recall if that's doable on the t-maxx though... if memory serves, you may be stuck with the 1/10th clutch because of the holes in the chassis rails.

I don't know, I never put shoes in without lightly sanding the contact areas, sanding out the inside of the bell where the shoes ride and cleaning everything with DA. I do this whenever I pull an engine for any other reason in my rigs just to maintain them.

If you have shoe material stuck inside the bell from the old shoes, that will cause it to slip, which is why I sand the inside of an old/used bell. New bells just usually have oil/paint in the inside, so I clean the oil and sand the paint out when they are new.

ok i will try it ..... and you mean "DA" denatured alcohol right?

it could be mixing with the oil coming from the front bearing thus making it more noticable than normal

Is fairly normal, but I'd still pull the engine and sand/clean since you didn't. Your old shoes don't look that bad. Was the spring making contact with the bell yet? Could have just needed a bit of TLC if it was starting to slip on you.
