hello everyone ,
ye aim still a noob at the savage thing but need a quick answer to a potential problem
ok new savage all stocks parts savage 21 that is
I've noticed today that the exhaust seems a little loose on the join coming from the engine. it exhause has always moved slightly , but i can't remember seeing it move as much.
is this just general wear and tear damage , or is it designed to take some knocks ?
sometimes the truck doesn't get up to full speed when i ask for full throttle
could this be the cause?
or is this a different problem ?
please bear in mind again in not too bad with engines but nitros are a whole new ball game for me.
Thxs in advance

I'd replace the purple exhaust gasket, you are probably getting an airleak. If you want the header fit to be more secure, you can drill another two small holes in the header and use an additional header spring.

Well look at the exhust gasket and look to see if it is worn, look ffor discoloration, get it replaced if their is, and a extra spring is always helpful, it is hard to tell if that is your problem, do you have a temp gun, what temps are you running, most likley your HSN is abit rich.

Tarant. Thanks for repeating almost everything that sweetdiesel said.
I enjoyed reading it twice.

I know you like to read stuff twice, dont worry you aren't the only one who is slow, lol, :jk:

Razor, the other thing you will want to replace is the spring itself, the spring heats up and cools again and again it will become weak and lose tension, and over time the spring dosnet have enough tension to hold the header tightly.

Hey n e one know where you can get those purple gaskets? mine has a cut so I'm looking for a new one. it hasnt effected n e thing yet but i think it would still be a good idea to get one. i bought the hpi ribbed pipe last night and i was wondering if n e one has boughten that pipe and if it came with a new gasket. if not ill need to find one. and so far I'm not having very much luck. well thanks in advance :)

Mark

If you go to your LHS they probly wont have a HPI one, but as long as it is the correct size it will work. my LHS has a few for ofna buggies but they all work the same
