  1. Bashing
I got a used aluminum diff with robinson gears. When it arrived it had the posi gears for use in the rearend. The guy I bought it from said this will hook up great on dirt which is where I do most of my bashing. What do you think? I installed it tonight along with front and rear aluminum bulkheads. I can't try it till I get my new tranny thursday and was just wondering if antybody has any experience with this setup? I dont want to tear stuff up when I take the occasional blast up the street. Axial .28 pushing it with the xtm conversion kit. Thank you, Tom

re: xtm conversion

I got the truck last thursday as a roller with no drivetrain so I dont know much about it yet. I put the pre broken in axial .28 in sunday. The truck didn't come with any motor mounts so I got some ofna big block heat sink mounts. The mount didn't line up to the holes in the chassis so I made my own slotted holes. I also didn't nave the right clutch nut so I had to make one. right now I am running the stock type clutch bell but will probably upgrade to an 1/8 scale clutch bell and spur gear for strength. Wow what a motor, I got it running sunday night late and didn't get to tune it. After work yesterday I got it out and started tuning. When I got it close I hammered it around for like 3 tanks before the 1 speed I borrowed from my 2.5 maxx melted down. The 20/72 setup was too low for that motor. Blip it a little too much and it would flip over back wards. Ok enough rambling, Ill let ya know when I get the 2 speed hooked up.

dont like the posi

I think I am going to remove the posi rear. Axial .28 tmaxx made it through about 4 tanks and totally shredded the hex part of the rims. Rear end first then I switched em LOL. No donuts but I do usually warm her up on the road. I think it is too much for the plastic hex joint. Any Ideas?? I'm going to get a new set of rims and tires and switch out the diff for a regular one.

posi out

I took the posi out last night and it held together pretty good with stock diff. I ran 3 or 4 tanks thru it with no problems. I got new adapters and put them into the stripped rims using tiny washers for shims to tighten it up. Then I drilled two holes and screwed the adapters to the rims. temporary fix so I can keep running, ya know how it is.
