was wondering if anyone knew if it is normal for some very few light metal shavings to be in the gear box? and i was also was wondering would would cause slippage.

well, i dont think there should be any light shavings in the gearbox.

As for slippage, Check the slipper clutch where the spur goes on. Its that little Nut. You should tighten it down all the way, and then unscrew about 1/4-1/2 turn.

Unless your talking about slippage inside the gearbox, then i guess if the gears are stripped it will slip.

sometimes. lube the gears with quality oil. not a lot though. trannys need to be maintained. it is a pain in the ass cause you haver to tear the whole rig apart.

It would be useless to lube the tranny as it is not sealed like 8th scale diffs. I would inspect for proper mesh.
