Popping Wheelies

When I purchased my savage 25 the guys told me I could pop a wheelie right out of the box, I didnt take it seriously but after i broke in the engine I tried forever to pop a wheelie, the only place I could seem to pop one is in the grass on a slope in my yard. Does this have somthing to do with the needle settings, tires, etc. or is it just me?? thanks Al :hammer:

you will need your 15T clutchbell in it. and your low end will probibly need to be a little lean to pop a wheelie. also the slipper clutch should be pretty tight. you can also try stiffening up the rear suspension.

i havent switched my clutchbell, so its still at 15t but maybe i will try that when i finish tuning it tommorrow but thanks, Al

if its still pretty new, your motor hasnt reached is fullest potential yet. you will reach maximum power at right around 1 gallon of fuel through it.

That should be soon then cuz i just finished about 1 gallon through it!!thanks,Al

If you can find someone to measure your head clearance
you will find it to be way to high on theese engines.
Try to get it down to .012 -.015 clearance and you will see much improved bottom end.
Only change the head clearance if you can measure it propperly and always check for detonation after changing and if your not sure what you are doing then leave it alone.

One other thing that may be a factor
is the speed of your throttle servo if it opens to slow that may stop you from getting the front end off the ground.
Or is this a stretch ?
Just a thought.

In stock form the S-25 Savage is not a wheelie machine on pavement.

Install a MotorSaver and the ribbed pipe and after burning about 2 gallons you should be able to wheelie if you tune it right.
