on my sc10, if i turn sharply i get a popping sound almost like a diff going out. but on the bench, i can spin one wheel, and the diff is smooth.

i have also checked my wheels and they are not stripped. does the sc10 come with a ball or gear diff?

any idea what the popping could be?

i looked at them, but didnt inspect them really close. you think its drooping to far and the dogbone is slipping?

ill have to check into that.

ok its not a drive cup. they are not worn at all. seems to do it even worse in grass. and starting to do it when only turning a little.

maybe trans?

Check inside your diff. It's a gear diff, and sc10's tend to not be shimmed correctly from the factory. If you let it go you will lose a sun gear (but AE is aware and will replace it). Call AE and ask for a shim pack, that will fix your problem.

found it!! the dog bone is walking out of the outer cup at high rpm, and the ears are hitting the a arm. put a little fuel tubing in the upper cup and its all good.

i also filled the diff with 1k oil and checked it for damage. i added a thicker shim under one of the sun gears. i think its good.

Or you could get the du-bro 4-40 ball cup kit. It will never come off unless you break the screw

you got links to this kit? does it replace the shafts with cvd's or what?
