well i guess mother natures on Floridas ass again, lets all hope & pray that all our friends and family that live there dont have another year of hell....

When are you FL guys going to GTFO of Dodge?
How many years of getting pounded and how many bugs does it take before you realize you live way to close to the gates of Hell.

I can't agree more. Year after year same ol thing. You would think the insurance companys would pull out, after all the payouts going to rebuilding year after year. Hey...Maybe that's why I keep getting reminders that my insurance has been raised.lol Well it's really not that funny!

come on guys dont you like listening to people complain about how the last 3 years their houses have been destroyed, yet their are going to stay and rebuild.

Yeah here we go agian.

I was going to take the family to Orlando this summer then thought better of it. No way I take even a small chance of having a vacation from hell.

I had a buddy that got stuck there for a bad one in 04 by NAS Pensecola. He said it leveled the base for the most part and screwed up his certification from NDI school. Took him forever to get it straightened out. I hate to hear about loss of life and the tradegies of loosing a home but DAMN PEOPLE, wake up and smell the coffee. If it happens every year and you choose to stay there anyway, quit your whining. Take your insurance check and move somewhere else.

The only people complaining here are the ones that don't live in Florida, WTF is it to you if they won't move. If that were the case no one should live in California because of Quakes or mud slides and everyone that lives where there are tornadoes or volcanoes and every other kind of natural disaster should move, if you get snowed in every year you should move...There would be no place to live. So instead of saying how everyone should move lets just wish our friends in that area the best of luck. Sorry but I'm tired of hearing the same thing over and over..

Good lucks guys, be shore to check in asap.

well that storm hit way further N than I live but I'm in CT / NY for the week...I missed all the fun....

A massive quake, mudslide, flood, or volcano doesn't happen to the same state year after year. They dont devastate the same cities year after year, They dont devastate the same houses year after year, Hurricanes do.

Any life lost is tragic and I do hope that everyone here and their families make it through safe.

My apologies, you are right. What I posted was an insensetive generalization about 99% of the population. This 99% accepts what comes with what they choose to call home, they pick up the pieces, scrape away the crud and drive on season after season without complaint. These are tenacious people and find tenacity as trait I can hold deep respect for. However, there are the 1% that I so stupidly wrote about that annoy the hell out of me, the 1% that reporters love to through in front of the camera as a human tradegy report. The 1% who knowingly live in a floodplain without flood insurance, the 1% who stand in the path of the storm when the other 99% have the good sense to head for the hills till things calm down. I make no apologies for my feeling about this 1%, if you or anyone else wish to lable me a Heartless Bastard so be it. I would rather call you and anyone else I may have offended FRIEND. Please accept my apology as it is meant in earnest. To the 99%, may the good Lord watch over you and your's. I hope to see you on the other side of the storm.
