  1. Bashing
i have a 5.9 that i can't get tuned to save my life its either rich and loads up or or seems lean n cuts n breaks up. the temperature always seems to be high 270-280f. The engine only had maybe a gallon through it and the compression is still awsome so I'm thinking its the carb? Is there a carb i could swap it out for or how could i fix this one? i heard to seal the engine and carb? if this is true can someone plz tell me how to do it if its true?

i greatly appriciate any response n ill try anything I'm dying to see this motor run at its tip top.

thanks guys

seal the engine, set the carb back to factory settings and start fresh. the 5.9 is notorious for being a PITA to tune and holding a tune.

what should i use to seal it n what exactly do i seal?

thanks you so much the help, I'm like losing sleep over this engine thats how bad i want to see it rip haha

i heard you can put a os 30vg carb in it and run great and hold a tune almost like a 4.6? is this true?

not sure on the carb question, you can use automotive gasket maker to seal the engine, there are other products that work to but i have always had good luck with it. seal the carb opening, and the back plate. do a youtube search on sealing nitro engines it will show you step by step how to do it.

HI TEMP rtv! seal between back plate and block, seal between carb and block, seal around both ends of the carb screw. as an added bonus, i usually threadtape all 3 needles for leaks also.

the 59 is notorious for running over 300 from what i have heard, so your temps seem good

Instead of thread tape on your needles you could use factory team green slime for shocks, thread tape of not done correctly can lead to worms (little teflon pieces)in your carb, which will more than likely plug something up in you fuel deliver system. I also put high temp silicon on the glow plug button. Between the piston sleeve and the glow plug button, not too much just enough for a thin coat. Then head on over to the buku webpage and order some front bearing dust shields, makes tuning an engine easier since they cut off some of the air that travel through the front bearing. All r/c engines new/old have a slight air leak due to the exposed front bearing, since it is hard to seal up something that is constantly rotating.
