Haven't been on much lately....
Haven't flew for about 4 years. No cars since last summer.
Almost ready to give it up.
Really wanting to get back into it. Everybody knows the deal. Life always gets in the way of our hobbies...

My bro is in about the same shape. So we decide to order a set of plans and work on one together.
What do we get?

A Nick Ziroli Stuka.
Damn this thing is huge. http://www.ziroliplans.com/cat_frameset.html (plans, then click on Stuka)

Nice set of plans.
Ordered the wood Friday. Had a copy of the plans made today. (for templates)

Getting excited again. Going to be a blast working with my bro.
Might even do a build post? That is if we can stick with it..

Wish me luck.

Beauty. You can't go wrong with anything from Nick Ziroli.
Post pics of the build as you go. What will you be using for power?

Man those Zeroli Kits are Fantastic. i would LOVe to work on one.

Please post progress and/or links to the site your doing your build on!
would love to follow along.

you going for flyability or scaleability or both? love to see these all decked out.

I'm building a 120 size P47 Tbolt from Willhobby atm. sure its an ARTF kit, but I'm going to try to work on some scale effects too.
i ll be powering with either a Tartan 11cc glow motor, or more than likely a Zenoah 20 Ei motor.

Pretty ambitious coming off a long building hiatus. That's a beautiful looking plane. I bet a lot of us would love a build thread. So keep us in the loop.

I would love to see a build, just don't leave us hangin like a certian boat builder. lol

Don't think anybody here would do that.

The guy I am going to build with is a lifelong friend. He actually got me in the hobby. We are in about the same state of mind. Both of us love the hobby, love building, but we aren't doing anything. We have projects all around, but can't get motivated enough to pick one.
He has been trying to talk me into something like this for some time. We are hoping this is going to get us back into it.

Haven't considered an engine yet. If it was smaller, would have to be a Saito. Never tried one this big.

Well I guess I'll be doing a build post.
Don't rag on me too hard. I don't do very well under pressure. If working on this one gets me back in the hobby, it's worth it.
Maybe somebody else will get interested enough to try it?

My biggest is the Gold Edition Cessna 182 from Top Flight. 81" span. Saito 1.20 4-stroke. There's nothing like a Saito 4 stroke, of any size, for great power AND sound.
I think you'll be looking into the gas engine for this one. Very dependable and cheap fuel compared to nitro.

Yeah bro. Definitly gas.
Wish it could be a 4-stroke...
Biggest I have built was 81." Balsa USA Eindecker. 91 Saito. Scares the hell out of me.
It flies great, but i'm scared to death I'm going to mess it up. Spend that much time building, ya don't want to risk flying it.
My bro built the Cessna. Not been flew yet, but a hell of a nice kit.

The Cessna is a real beauty. Totally scale. I also have the full scale interior kit and all the lights.
A few years ago I had the Top Gun F-15 .81 ducted fan. Spring suspension retracts and fully detailed cockpit with pilot. Way too beautiful to take a chance on flying. 6' long, 5' wingspan. It sat on a brass and glass table in the middle of my living room till I sold it for $1300.
When the Cessna is finished it might end up in the same place. Every time I fly something I poured my heart into, my knees shake and my palms sweat till it's on the ground again.
