Plane Plans

Bought my step pappy a trainer for a fathers day gift, now looking for the next best challenge for the both of us.

The challenge to START the challenge, seems to be a problem. we'd like to build a plane in kit form, to be something similar like the twin star. The problem is that we can't find a good source for plans on building a plane like that.

Where can I find a website with good plans? Google hasn't been all that helpful lately.

was there ever a kit form of the twinstar? I know its only ARF and RTF these days.

From Hobbico i dont believe so, i only recall it being an ARF or RTF, check here also www.horizonhobby.com the also have a nice selection of planes.

But, I think he had something in mind of making a plane out of scratch. Since winter is in 3 months, it'd give us something to do for the next 6 months. He wants to build it with his own balsa and the whole 9 yards. He's got quite some ambition to get this goin!

Might have to design one with the computer and cut it out ourselves. Should be interesting. When I was a Ukie, we designed a plane called an emu. Kicked ass for a .15 sized plane.

update...

Just found a super sporster .40 in the house! Still in pieces in the original box. How well of a plane is that?
