Does a aftermarket pipe make a huge diffirence? or should I just slap in a (gulp) expensive bigger engine? I have a stocker 21bb.
Does a bigger engine not put strain on the side shafts and diffs?

Yes it will make a difference but nothing like a larger engine. You will gain a little with a upgraded pipe ,but you will gain a lot more with a upgraded engine. Picco.26,hyper 8 etc. I have a picco & it will rip the dog bones.

Bigger engines tend to wear diffs and break bones faster. Id suggest MIP's but they arent out yet but the HPI hardened Dogbones would help. A RRP Spur gear would also be a wise investment.
 
I have my eye on the Orion Wasp, I want to put a bigger engine in only once. The benefit of a larger engine is that it does not have to work that hard to get the truck moving!
 
Anyone want to part with a decent pipe? I think I will keep the stocker and just upgrade the pipe!
 
The stock 21 BB does not have a hard time getting it moving. It just not as fast as the WASP. It lacks the rpm’s . The 21 BB is not that bad compared to most.
 
I agree, I have got a spare piston and sleeve and machined cooling head on order from Tower. Should be here on Friday. Any sugestions on a pipe?
 
I have the 086 this was the first hop up that everyone was so hot for when the savage first came out. Did it improve my stock 21 BB yes . The top end was better but there is other pipes on the market. I want to try the THS pipe.

I'm getting this right after I get my Wasp. Definitely a good pipe.

That is what i found I want silver the only ones I've found is k&m but they are on ebay for way too much $$$$$$$$$.
