like the title says , piggy back's , what do you guys think about them , I'm starting to do alot of jumps now and want to now how i should set up my shocks, i saw the piggyback shocks on the net and look nice but I'm not sure they are good , about 6 months ago monkey said they werent that great , but just want some more advice.maybe oil and spring force etc......

Skip it......the stockers with the right oil are much more reliable.....been there done that......got a pair I would not even GIVE you.

I know the Integy shocks are real beauties, but it seems they get mixed reviews as far as bashing value goes, but like most things, how you treat them determines their lifespan.
Wait for some other replies, I'm sure there will be several recommendations from hard bashers as to the best shocks for jumping.
Springs, preload and oils all effect the behavior.
 
cool thanks i will wait abit to see what they say , cause i took 2 or 3 jumps and busted a shock ,i have 60 oil all around and purple in the back and blue in the front, i havent changed them in awhile

tried em, payed too much for what they are.

i sold them for $20 after 2 tanks of run time
 
If your really in the want for some good shocks, the traxxas GTR's are great. All my friends that race run them and they get real consistant results with them.

i also recomend these, i still run the stock shocks, only because i've never had a problem with them with 9 gallons on the chassis and such it self.

thats the only reason they are still stock
 
are you racing or bashing , cause when i bash , i intend to break almost so i need a good shock setup , i heard of titanium shafts , any good?and would you guys reccommend a steel spur gear for me that does alot of jumps , my spur gets eaten up pretty fast , ? if i set real loose would that help also?

a steel combo is nice, RRP has some really good products. i had 6 gallons on my RRP combo before both CB and spur gear pooped.


the titanium shafts come with the GTR shocks, or you can just buy the parts here and there that make up the GTR shocks to build your stock shocks up to that level

if you set real loose? set what loosE?
the spur gear? if your mesh is more loose then what it should be, be ready for another spur gear replacement.

know of the paper trick for getting the right gear mesh?

i was talking about my slipper , and yes i have heard about the paper trick but just havent dont it yet , i think there is supposed to be about 1mm space between th eboth , correct me if I'm wrong
 
I'm not sure of the distance its sopost to be meshed, but i just make sure my stuff is close, quiet and good.


you can loose'n your slipper, might give save a few spurs that way.
 
I'm going to try the meshing stuff now and see what gives , I'm sure i will by the steel spur to be sure , they are cheap on ebay anyway
 
If you are gonna run a steel spur don't forget to run a hardened clutch bell also. Its a must. Been there done that.
 
yup for sure i found a combo set so I'm guess that would be the best bet.

i broke 2 rear ones i would have to say dont get them if your gonna start jumping alot.
 
I personally have a set of MSR5's on my Emaxx and so far so good. I have not had any problems at all. Of course I am not jumping off the roof of my house though. I find they work great for the bashing I do with the Emaxx.
Just my 2 cents though.

ya i mean they arnt bad but stock are better for overall .
but i do have to say the piggy backs are sick ass hell. looking
