I had seen several pics of the zip ties on the heads and asked about them here before I ever got the buggy. I hadn't really considered how much time it may spend upside down, lmao.
In the bike world, any scars a bike has from traveling on it's side, etc,,I refer to as "unregistered" miles :)

Zip Ties rule... I have em on my MBX-5 and have saved my head a few times. Plus, when/if you want to sell the engine at some point, she looks new!!!!!

My soon to be only RC.

MP 7.5 Kanai built by Jon2. Hop ups include hardcore racing parts, some fioroni and racers edge. I added a JP1 pipe, SP2 springs and werks clutch. New body will be painted sometime in the next 3-4 months.

Neat! Can I ask why you appear to have ditched the JP1 parabolic header and replaced it with a "dog-leg" header?

I've just done the opposite (swapped an OFNA dog-leg header for a TTR parabolic) and I'm wondering if this is going to affect my 086 pipe adversely.

The reason why I use the dogleg header is because it was already trimmed to clear my rotostart backplate and I was having fitment issues with finding the correct manifold gasket to mate up the u shaped header with the engine.

Sorry I can't help you with your question, maybe one of the more experienced guys will chime in on peformance between dogleg versus u shaped headers.

I always thought dog-legged headers tend to hump your leg more often than parabolic ones. Am I off base on this one?
Not sure if I should ban you or laugh hysterically at this!!!

IckyBod?

mrfranchize02

That is one sweet X1CR there. I can only guess it hasn't been run yet.
Love that artwork too, keep us updated with photos once the engine's installed.
