How do you guys feel about ur engines? I see that alot of you have Picco.26 w/Nova Head. Is that a good combonation? Is the engine responsive for wheelies? Is it fast for Dragging? I really am intrested, and finally-Was it worth it for the price? Thanks-I can't decide either New Engine, or Save up for a Car. (Little Price Differential)

from a HPI 21bb to a Tear Orion WASP 26.... well worth it... I went from a 21bb to a Force 26.. eh... I wasn't too happy.. then from a Force 26 to a WASP 26... big difference... I can do wheelies on my HB tires... but it also up to your Spur Gear CB combination as well.. and with NOVA head... perfect.. I am at a constant 220 - 230 degrees... I have a friend who has a Picco Outlaw 26 with a NOVA with extended chasis and stock wheels running @ 200 - 217 degrees.. Nova head drops it up to 40 degrees or more...

Here she is!! These pics are kinda old(my cam is broke) since these pics were taken I've added Proline 40 series Outback Weld TxT-1 wheels with Savage central adapters,Adrenaline fuel tank guard, the Ofna fual tank mod,throttle/brake linkage mod,and RcRaven triple rate spring set.

I just took some new pictures of my Savage. I will post them when I get home from work.

Did you ever get pics online of your Savage??

I do now. :)

Here is an overhead picture of my Savage. I just finished cleaning her up. Well except for the pipe and tires. :) Oh yeah I also need to clean my air filter too.

And here are two pictures of the dual tank mod. The 2nd one is also showing the new primerless fuel tank.

As of right now I only have the stock body. Something I am hoping to change soon.

I have installed heavier 4lb purple springs all around. I have completed the diff mod. I am also going to be completing the throttle mod. I have been told that this helps with the brakes or the lack there of.

I also have a Trinity hump back with a charging harness that needs to be installed.

The tank is a 2 oz Hayes header tank. You can pick up the tank and the bracket from http://www.heliproz.com. Go to their site, click on On-Line Catalog and then do a search for header tank. Either one of the last two items in the search will be what you want. They also offer the bracket in black. Sadly they do not sell just the brackets so you will need to buy two of them. Which isn't that bad because now you will have a 2nd tank incase something happens to the first one.

As far as mounting it I have seen quite a few different ideas. I chose to replace the shock bolts going thru the tower and replace them with longer ones. I don't remember the exact size but the only screw that I found that was long enough was a toggle bolt. The length is 3 inches. However it wasn't an exact fit. It was just slightly bigger than the mounting bracket and the shock tower. To fix this problem I grabbed a drill bit and a pair of visegrips and enlarged the holes for the new screw. From there I used a washer on the side of the head, then two nylon nuts as spacers to get the tank away from the shock tower, then slip on the backet, two more washers and then a lock nut. This may be a little overkill but at least I know it won't be going anywhere. :)

After it was all done I was thinking of a different way I could have did this mod. This picture shows what I was thinking. This is a picture from Savage-Central. The picture was taken by justintoxicated.

You can use a piece of metal as a brace between the shocktower bolts and mount the bracket to this. It would be much easier than having to drill out the holes on everything else. Also you might be able to get a way with just using one brace instead of using two.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Here is a cool link about the dualtank mod. I was thinking about useing those same things for the brace between the two shock tower bolts. I want to make sure I have something that is stiff enough. Click me for the link

Here is another thread on the dual tank mod.
http://www.savage-central.com/ftopic3265.html

I went for the Ofna tank mod and the Adrenaline tank guard. The tank guard is a PITA to get your hands on but it's well worth it.I didn't even really notice the decrease in run time with the Ofna tank.It runs great until the tank is bone dry.

Painted my new body and slapped on the stock wheels for the white raised letters look.. I used a Paint pen... then got a clear coat pen as well..

I really like what you did with those wheels. Do you have a better pic of your body? I can't quite make out the color. Maybe its just my older monitor. :)

Ah. That is pretty impressive for a camera phone. Now only if your camera phone had a flash...... :)
