These are pics of my original savage 21 that I've been hopping up for a couple months now. It has the Picco p3 .26/ Ofna 3 shoe clutch with vented flywheel /RC Solutions Roll Cage / 7075 heat sink engine mount / 17t cb 49t spur / 4 spider diff mod / mp servo saver / Fironi air filter (homemade connector) / Hitec 5945 steering servo / JR rx & throttle brake servo(w/ reworked linkages) / Super Maxx Biohazard Monster wheels with Imex Jumbo Swamp Dawg tires. Every time I tried to load the pics to the gallery it said file size to big so I just stuck em on webshots.

Thanks, cutting the treads like that shaved at least an ounce off each tire. It also makes them much more agressive without adding to much rolling resistance. I havnt had much chance to put them to a durability test but I've trimmed other sets without much trouble. The main reason I did it was so theyd look more like super swampers.

Nice ride. But the one thing I like the most is the Blazer body. It is clean, no fancy sh!t just like a stock chevy. Props to you.

Hmmm looks nice. Very nice ride man. I am curious to know what advantage that cutting down the treads really offered you when you did it.

The biggest advantage was removing a 1/4lb of weight from the rotating mass in the drivetrain. It also allows the tire to get better off road traction. The downside is less on road traction and increased rolling resistance.

Took it out for some fun in the snow today and managed to get a few pics.(easier said than done when your trying to shoot and drive) Only damage incurred was a blown rear diff and some damage to a beater body. I added a few pics to the album but these are the best. Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3 Pic 4

It looks like nitro zombie is using RC Solutions roll cage.

You can find it at......

nitro zombie - What did you use to shave the tread?

I used a exacto knife (with a blade similar to a wood chisel) to cut the treads down just about even with the tire surface, then used my dremel with a sanding drum(60 grit works like a hot knife through butter) to smooth the tire out. More time consuming than anything. All the tire dust sucks to clean up as well, it gets everywhere.
