So i called amainhobbies this morning from australia to sus out whats going on. they had the backorder set for the 2nd... and still no email or motors available. so called up today, had a chat with the guy. they have 8 picco 26 jlr motors on backorder and 10 already taken, I'm lucky 6 apparently which was good to hear. they will be turning up on the 16th i think he said. 2 weeks on friday away. then available for me to buy. then i guess the next order is coming in on the 25th as there website says. why is it taking so long for OFNA to catch up? surely they can get these motors built faster?

This is happening a lot these days, right across all industries, manufacturers are not keeping as much avalable stock, resellers are reducing stock sitting on shelves.
It's just a part of the whole economy down the gurgler thing, companies are cutting cost wherever they can & reducing non-liquid assets.

It's chronic in the performance engine building trade at the moment, I've had to wait 3 months for parts to become available for engine builds - customers/racers get a bit cranky about having their race engine down due to not being able to get one little part.
Causes me issues too, I've had $25k race engines sitting on stands with lotsa $$ owing on them that I can't collect coz I can't finish them without XX part, which is on backorder & won't be here for farking ages.

yeh, its a bit bs.... ud think that the factories would be able to pump this stuff out when the demand gets higher....

Not if they've downsized on staffing & are running low stock levels across their whole product range.
They can probably ramp up production on their fastest moving stock, but if it's not one of their best sellers it'll generally wait until it's due for a production run.
In manufacturing switching from one production run to another can include a bit of down time - most manufacturers don't even have close to enough machines etc to produce all their products simultaneously, they'll do runs of XX product, then switch the line over to YY product, then over to AA product. If XX product sells out quickly it can be quite a while before the next run is due & it's uneconomical to chop & change the lines mid run.

REVO: Have you considerd a 2nd option on a engine OS has pretty awsome powerplants or are you really set on getting a picco..

I just looked today and seen plenty .26 and .28 piccos on eBay for $149- $189 maybe a few in th $220 range. Buy it now.

I'm also getting a complete dynamite 086 exhaust from amainhobbies for a total of 230$ with about 10$ delivery. dont think anyone else can beat that. only problem is i have to wait till my back order comes in on the 16th

in saying that. I'm looking at the lrp zr.32 spec.2 motor instead. apparently it might fit with everything that I'm getting for the picco... mount, possibly clutch etc.

I got a picco .26 jl red dot with 1/4 of a gallon thought it for $135 shipped on eBay just find one there.

i dont want 2nd hand. and they might only say they have 1/4 gallon through it, but i dont like the fact that they could have put 4 gallons through it....

Nope not red dot. The ones I looked at were .26 max was thinking of getting one for the tmaxx but went with the cheaper dynamite .19T instead. Someone on here told me It was a better engine than trx. And a direct drop in replacement.
