is the picco .28 or the hpi 4.6 better? i hear about them a lot and saw they are about the same price
 
I haven't owned either of them, but have heard lots of good things about the Picco mills.
 
i have not had the 4.6, but I've had a modded s-.25. and now have a picco .27 in my savage...HUGE difference between the two. the picco has way more power than the modded .25 had...and the picco is at least as easy to tune

infact I'm pondering going to a slightly less powerfull mill (but i know i wont :) )
 
I own a Picco .28, and I had a K4.6 at one point. For the money the Picco .28 is the better engine imo. Both engines idle well, and both are pretty easy to tune, the Picco just has the edge in power all around. Its not a huge difference, but the Picco just has a punch the HPI doesn't have. The picco as more ports I am pretty sure, and has quite a bit of top end for an engine this big.

GRG, if this is for the Kyosho build, you need to get the kit first and make sure you have the right mounts. The USA-1 came in two different flavors and the one that came with the engine (a GS-21 I believe) did not come with engine mounts because the GS mounts directly to the chassis. If that is the case, you will need to mod the chassis and find some engine mounts BEFORE choosing an engine to make sure it'll line up with the gear. The USA-1 uses a unique counter-rotating gear that connects the CB with the flywheel and it can cause some headaches, so keep that in mind as you get into your build.
